Privacy Policy

  • Proxy traffic is never stored or sent
  • No accounts — only a random install ID
  • Ads only for free users, after 7 days

1. Proxy traffic

  • Traffic passing through the app is only forwarded to its destination on your phone; its content and access logs are never stored or sent.
  • The connected-device list (address, name, bytes) lives in memory and disappears when sharing stops.

2. Ads (free users, after 7 days)

  • Google AdMob processes the advertising ID (IDFA/AAID), device and app information and IP address (approximate location) to serve and measure ads.
  • On iOS we ask for tracking permission; if you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown. In the EEA/UK we ask for consent first.
  • Pro users see no ads. How Google uses data: policies.google.com

3. Purchase verification

  • When you buy Pro, the store receipt (transaction ID / purchase token) and a random install ID created by the app are sent to the HotspotOn verification server (hotspoton-api.ezbuilder.app), which checks them with the App Store or Google Play.
  • We never receive your name, email or payment details (the stores handle payment).
  • We keep them as long as needed to verify your purchase and delete them on request.

4. Stored on your device

  • Settings such as port, auto-start, proxy password, app-hotspot name and password and Pro status stay on the device, are excluded from backups and are deleted with the app.

5. Permissions

  • Local network (iOS): lets your devices on the same hotspot connect.
  • Notifications (Android): shows that sharing is on, with a stop button.
  • Nearby devices (Android 13+) / location (Android 12 and below): only to open the app hotspot (Wi-Fi Direct); no location is collected.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iOS): decides whether free-user ads are personalized.

6. Children

  • The app is not directed at children under 14.
